Dave Seck CD

We have recorded and edited Dave’s Classical Guitar CD’s – featuring original compositions and arrangements. We recorded over 30 tracks in two 4-hour sessions at a hall in Old Headington. Due for release shortly!

Next time I’ll bring an air-rifle to take down any pigeons cooing outside…

Matt Chanarin

…. as seen @ Catweazle

Dave and I are so stoked to be producing the upcoming album from Matt Chanarin. He’s currently rehearsing with Colin (Telling the Bees) and Evan (ALAMAKOTA) before coming to the studio, so there’ll be magic hitting the tape machine as soon as I hit the red button. Magic I tell you.

David Simon album launch party @Jazz Cafe

So it finally happened – ‘Collision’ was performed in its entirety to a packed out Jazz Cafe of singing fans on 16th July. It was truly an awesome gig, with up to 10 people on stage for some of the more epic musical moments, and David showing us what he does best.

There have been a couple of reviews of the album since it’s release, so have a read if you’re interested:

The gig was filmed and recording so we’re now working on Post Production for the DVD…

Lazare Gigs

Lazare have just finished our first run of gigs in the UK, playing at Club 229, the Luminaire and Malmaison. We played with some really great bands, like Charly Coombes and the New Breed, The Kin, and dB Band (check them all out).

Lazare is:

2F on vocals and guitar,

Dave Seck on bass and BVs

Oli Whitworth on keys and BVs

Miikey Dean-Smith on drums and BVs.

We’ll be touring again in about a month, come along!

G&Ds gig

Another icecream-driven gig at G&Ds icecream parlor (Cowley Road), with Spring Offensive and Stagecoach managing to rouse up the most brain-frozen audience (not easy). Look out for a collection of these live performances out on CD in the future!

NYGE @ Keble College

A great concert from the National Youth Guitar Ensemble, featuring an original composition from the director, Gerald Garcia. Keith Fairbairn was the guest soloist for this concert, playing Marimba and percussion. CDs will be available from the NYGE website:   http://www.egta.co.uk/content/nyge

I recorded the concert onto 8 track, to leave some options open for mixing. A main pair of Oktava mics provided most of the sound, but these were supplemented with spot mics on Marimba, bass guitar and percussion, resulting in a really natural, intimate but enveloping sound.

A really fantastic concert that I was proud to be involved in!
